This AbsoluteCare Pro dryer from AEG dries a large load of laundry very energy-efficiently. Thanks to the 3D sensor, my laundry dries evenly, and I can safely put all types of laundry in the drum. This keeps my clothes looking good for longer. With SmartDry, the dryer gives me the choice between energy-efficient or fast drying. Handy when I'm in a hurry. I do need a bit more patience with the eco program, but that's not a problem when I'm sleeping at night.

First impression The sleek, modern design has a futuristic feel to it. Part of the panel at the top is matte black, which I find very stylish. The display is clear and has various programs for cotton, wool, and bedding, for example. With MixDry, I dry cotton and synthetic laundry at the same time, meaning I have less sorting to do. When I turn on the dryer and open the drum door, the light comes on. This way, I have a good view of my laundry even in a dark corner. The drying drum is spacious and has enough room for a large load.

Down jacket Thanks to the AbsoluteCare Pro system, I can safely dry all types of laundry. I also put my down jacket in the dryer with peace of mind. A 3D sensor scans the fabric inside and out and adjusts the program accordingly. This ensures the heat is distributed evenly and my bodywarmer retains its shape nicely. I also dry my daughter's sleeping bag better. Normally, the thick fabric still feels damp in some spots, but that is not the case now.

Saving energy or time With energy class A, the dryer saves a lot of energy. The eco program does take a long time to dry a full drum of 9 kilograms of laundry, at 255 minutes. This doesn't bother me at night.

With the SmartDry function, I choose whether I want to save energy or time for a few programs. When I choose 'save energy' for the Mixdry program, I dry 6 kilograms in 146 minutes. If I choose 'save time', it takes me 115 minutes. This allows me to finish half an hour earlier.

Wi-Fi I connect my AEG dryer to my AEG washing machine via Wi-Fi. I do this using the SyncDry function. This allows me to do the laundry remotely, and my dryer adopts the final settings from my washing machine. As a result, I dry my shirts exactly right.

Silent The dryer is already very quiet, but with the 'Silent' option, I dry extra quietly at night. Because of this, I am not afraid of waking my family up at night. After a good night's sleep, I take my clothes out of the drum completely dry.

Great appliance. I used to have an AEG (Lavatherm) condenser dryer, and I had to leave a laundry room door open to allow the water vapor and heat to dissipate, preventing mold. This is a heat pump dryer. Much quieter, and the laundry room door can remain closed.

Compared to our previous dryer (a 9-year-old Bosch), this AEG dryer is much quieter and dries better. There's a separate setting for bed linens, which prevents them from getting tangled. The dust filter is easy to open and replace.
