After six years of using a premium brand dryer, I finally opted for Beko. It's very economical (<0.5 kWh per cycle so far with a half load) and dries perfectly. However, they seem to be a bit picky about the drain height. Despite the drain height being as specified in the manual (between minimum and maximum), the reservoir overflowed. Fortunately, no water damage. Having chosen a lower drain, it seems to be working fine. For the tech enthusiast, it also integrates well with Home Assistant and HomeWhiz (and the community module).
