Samsung Mini-LED 85 inches M73H (2026)

The Samsung Mini-LED M73H is a great starting point for people replacing their old TV with a modern Mini-LED model. The TV features a solid full array Mini-LED screen, where the entire screen is equally bright and high-contrast. Thanks to the 4K resolution, I enjoy sharp images in movies and series. Unfortunately, I notice from the peak brightness that this is an entry-level model, and I sometimes have to close the curtains during the day. If the room is brightly lit, I see reflections and cannot see what is happening in dark movie scenes.

Full array Mini-LED screen The M73H has a Mini-LED screen with full array local dimming. Behind the screen are hundreds of small LED lights that illuminate the pixels in the image. In this area, the M73H is a clear improvement compared to last year's QN73F. The LED lights are distributed behind the entire screen, instead of just along the screen edge. As a result, I enjoy high-contrast images and see a clear difference between dark and light parts of the screen. Unfortunately, the peak brightness of the M73H is on the low side. As a result, brightly lit images are realistic, but the M73H performs less well in dark movie scenes. Especially during the day, I see distracting reflections, a gray glow around bright light sources, and I have more difficulty following what is happening.

Sharp 4K images Thanks to the 4K resolution, I watch sharp images in movies, series, and TV programs that support this resolution. 4K will remain the standard resolution for a long time, making the M73H a good choice if you simply want a TV for daily use that will last a long time. The television also features 4K AI upscaling. With this, the TV improves Full HD or HD Ready movies to 4K, making them 4 or even 8 times sharper. The quality of this feature is slightly lower than on other Samsung models, due to the less powerful processor. Nevertheless, I find this a nice addition. For example, football matches on channels that do not yet support 4K look slightly better this way. 3 HDMI connections The mini-LED M73H has 3 HDMI 2.0 connections, which I find sufficient for this 50Hz television. This allows me to connect a soundbar, media player, and game console to the TV. One of the 3 connections supports HDMI eARC, ensuring your soundbar sounds as realistic as possible. When playing on a game console like the PlayStation 5, the maximum refresh rate is 50Hz. This is enough for most games, but during online games, I do not enjoy the smoothest visuals. As a result, I do not always react to opponents in time.

Nice TV

You won't find a better TV for this price. Pleasant to use, and a beautiful picture that is easy to adjust. The sound is a bit "empty," but that is to be expected at this price and doesn't bother me at all, even though I had quite high expectations. I hope it lasts for years!
