Range hoods for average kitchens
The average kitchen falls between 2.5 by 4 meters and has an area between 20 and 30 m³. For this type of kitchen you therefore need a hood with an extraction capacity between 160 to 240 m³. How much this is exactly depends on the exact dimensions of your kitchen and whether the kitchen is closed or open. A hood in an open kitchen has to do more work because the cooking fumes spread faster and therefore requires a larger extraction capacity.
