I find a 14 inch laptop a good size to take with me and still work comfortably in the library on word/powerpoint and other documents.
An absolute plus of this laptop is its fast start-up, very useful if you arrive a little late to class or if you need to quickly check something on your PC before you leave.
One downside I've experienced so far is that the speakers make a kind of buzz when they're on but I don't play music (for example, when scrolling through fb). It's easy to fix by turning off your sound, but it's a shame.
