HOUSING/ DESIGN: The laptop looks very luxurious to me. The top is made of sleek metal, nice and slim, the bezels around the screen are quite thin, the on/off button is just next to the Delete button on a nice keyboard. Two rubber edges under the laptop so that it is always stable. “You are strong yourself” Coolblue would say. ;)
PERFORMANCE: I have the AMD Ryzen 5 version, 8GB memory and 256GB storage. Depending on your requirements determines whether this is enough for you. For most people, this configuration will be more than adequate for all day-to-day work. If you have specific requirements such as video editing, etc., then it is worth considering looking at a heavier processor. This laptop goes from full power off to Windows desktop in 9 seconds, starting programs, browsing, running virus scan… it all goes very fast on this laptop.
CONNECTIVITY: Two USB 3.1 ports, HDMI 2.0 port, Bluetooth, SD card reader, USB-C and a headphone jack. No ethernet connection. In a time of wi-fi not necessary for most people, but if you are in the attic with a powerline adapter or the like. well. Fortunately, there is a converter for that. Not many USB ports on this machine, but there is an external solution for that too. All in all, I think this laptop is pretty complete in terms of connections.
SCREEN: A nice IPS panel. I notice that the viewing angle is very good. If you sit diagonally in front of the laptop, you will not see the colors change, which you do with a TN panel. The resolution of 1920 × 1080 at 15.6 inches is a DPI of 141, which produces a very sharp image.
BATTERY LIFE: The battery lasts for several hours depending on usage. Working somewhere without a charger for a day is not really an option.
WEIGHT: The laptop is quite light. I don't think this is a device you would want to keep on your lap (for a long time), but you can easily take the laptop with you.
INTERNAL SPEAKERS: For laptop speakers, the sound is quite nice. Personally, I don't really use this, but when I play music, I don't think it's that bad considering the speaker dimensions.
SOUND DURING WORK: The laptop is very quiet. When running an intensive task such as a virus scan, you hear almost nothing (very soft blowing).
SOFTWARE: A lot of HP standard software is installed during the installation. I deleted all of these because I don't use it anyway. Personally, I don't see the benefit of it either. I prefer Windows Defender to Norton.
CONCLUSION: I think you get a lot of laptop for the money in this price range. Ideal for students, people who just want a new laptop that you can use for a while and is also not out of place for business purposes. I haven't really found any major drawbacks. I'm actually quite surprised that I get this quality in this price range.
