The low response time of 1ms prevents ghosting or blurred images around a moving object. Choose a monitor with G-Sync or FreeSync if you want to prevent screen tearing. This way, you can play smoothly and without annoyances. Note: most video cards support a maximum of 144 Hrz on Full HD. Very powerful GPUs support QHD 144Hz. Unfortunately, 4K with 144Hz isn't possible yet. The response time has no effect on your video card.
