According to our laptop expert
Also as a tablet: quickly turn the laptop into a tablet, so you can easily make sketches and take notes on the touchscreen.
Medium demanding tasks with AI: edit photos, handle medium demanding AI tasks, and enjoy a long battery life.
Useful AI features: use useful AI features like Cocreate with this Copilot+ PC.
Storage fills up quickly: we recommend at least 512GB of storage if you often save files on your laptop.
No backlit keyboard: the keys don’t have a backlight, so you can see them less clearly in the dark.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 12" Copilot+ PC Snapdragon X Plus / 16GB / 256GB is a business laptop that I also use as a tablet. Thanks to its 12-inch size and light weight, I easily take it to the office or to a client. I also use handy AI features like Recall and the Copilot chatbot. I also work on the laptop all day without charging it thanks to the Qualcomm Hexagon NPU.
Laptop and tablet Thanks to its small 12-inch size, I can take the laptop everywhere. I put it in my bag or a laptop sleeve. When I'm working on the train, I also use the laptop as a tablet thanks to the detachable keyboard. You can buy this keyboard separately. I place the laptop on a small desk or on a table on the train thanks to the fold-out stand. This gives me more screen space because I don't use the laptop's digital keyboard. A charger isn't included with this laptop, so I buy one separately. The lack of a charger isn't a problem, because the The laptop has a Qualcomm Hexagon NPU with 45 TOPS. This allows me to use it all day without charging, as the NPU increases battery life.
Powerful components Thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus processor with 16GB of RAM, I use this laptop for my daily tasks. I edit photos and work in various spreadsheets. The touchscreen is also very useful here, as I can quickly edit small details in my photos. In addition, AI features like the Copilot chatbot and Cocreator in Paint help with brainstorming. For example, Copilot performs data analyses and I generate backgrounds or objects in Paint with Cocreator. The Recall function makes it easy to find files and websites and I use my search history less.

It is quite a nice device, works well and generally offers what I hoped for. However, I did expect a bit better in terms of performance from a computer of 1000 euros. This tablet can't handle programs that run on a 10 year old laptop of 500 euros, this is quite a disappointment. Furthermore, the screen is really too reflective. I don't know how this even got through the design phase without someone thinking of an anti-reflective coating, because in an environment with a lot of light the screen is almost unusable, unless you need a mirror. Hopefully screen protectors will soon be available that can solve this problem because that is also not yet on the market. That brings me to the accessories. The accompanying keyboard is really extremely expensive. It is nice to use, but a separate keyboard of 30 euros will function the same. In addition, the keyboard only works when it is attached to the tablet, and can therefore not be used separately like the one of the other surface pro versions. This is a real shame, especially if you use the tablet as a drawing tablet and the keyboard gets in the way a bit in the normal position.
