Based on the specifications, we bought the more expensive Lenovo IdeaPad for home/school use. Besides the fastest processor, the military-grade rating was a deciding factor. You expect a robust laptop that can withstand a few knocks, but unfortunately, the laptop doesn't feel that way. It's also possible that we just received a laptop that shouldn't have passed quality control, as it was sent back for repairs for the third time after the screen failed, followed by the keyboard. The second repair wasn't performed properly, meaning the laptop is now on its way for the third time. Of the four months, the laptop is away for repairs for five weeks without a replacement. A six-year-old HP Chromebook allows our daughter to do her work at school, and this Chromebook feels sturdier than the IdeaPad.
Although the IdeaPad will be repaired, we've lost confidence in this computer, and we expect a different solution to be chosen.
In short, if you're looking for a Lenovo, consider a ThinkPad; it seems to be of higher quality.
