The device is much slower than all the hard drives I have purchased so far. It takes forever to read the contents of directories, and changing the file name is also slow. In addition, the device is noisy.

When a number of games had to be removed from the PlayStation 4 to be able to update 1 game, after years of hesitation I decided to finally buy an external hard drive on which the necessary games could be placed to restore the internal hard drive of the PS4. relieve some more. Because I also want to use the hard drive in the future to possibly connect it to a PS5, I immediately made it sufficiently large (both PS4 and PS5 support hard drives up to 8 GB). Installation was very easy: the hard disk was recognized immediately, formatting was child's play.

Transferring existing games from the PS4 to the Seagate and installing previously purchased games from the library took some time. Because I immediately wanted to put almost my entire library of games on the Seagate, it took several days before everything was on the hard disk. Only 3 games are written at a time.

Once installed, the games are read quickly and you will not notice any difference in speed with the internal hard drive from the PS4 while playing.

The noise level is acceptable. I had initially placed the hard disk behind the TV out of sight, but the TV cabinet functioned as a sound box there, which produced an annoying sound when the disk was read/written. Moved them to the side of the furniture, where there is no longer a hollow space underneath and now they are almost inaudible during use. Only a slight hum is now audible, which is usually drowned out by other sounds in the environment.

So far very satisfied with this purchase.
