Costs and duration insurance
How high is my premium?
The amount of the premium depends on the type of product and the purchase price. On the product page, you can see exactly how much you pay.
When does your insurance expire?
Generally, the insurance lasts until it's cancelled either by you or by us. You can cancel an insurance with a fixed term yearly, no later than 3 months before the end of each year that your insurance is in effect. You can cancel a monthly insurance every month, with a 7-day cancellation period. To do this, send an email to verzekeringen@coolblue.be. If you don't cancel your insurance early, we can do this, up to 3 months before your pre-paid period expires.
How does the premium payment work?
The agreed premium for a Backup Plan with a fixed term has to be paid for when entering into the insurance agreement. You can pay in cash or electronically. You pay the monthly premium of your monthly cancelable Backup Plan via direct debit 1 month in advance. The first premium payment will be debited within 7 days from the bank account you've provided. If the payment is unsuccessful, we'll send you a payment reminder.
When will my insurance expire?
After the specified duration on the policy document, after non-payment, in case of theft, or if repairing the product isn't possible anymore due to the remaining value of your product.
When will the premium be debited?
The first payment of a monthly-cancellable Backup Plan will be debited a couple of days after your purchase. After that, we'll debit the amount on a monthly basis. You'll pay for the premium of your insurance monthly in advance via direct debit.
The premium for a Backup Plan with a fixed term is paid directly at purchase.
Can you change your Backup Plan type and term?
Yes, you can change your insurance within 30 days. Please contact our customer service for this.
When is my product insured?
Your insurance is active from the moment you receive your product. You'll be covered when you've received your product and successfully made your first premium payment.
How much does your insurance cost per year?
In case you have insurance with a fixed term, you pay your insurance in advance for a set period of time. Suppose you've paid your insurance 3 years in advance, and that your premium is € 150. That's means your yearly premium is € 150 / 3 = € 50. If you want to cancel your insurance after 2 years, we'll refund the premium you've paid in excess pro rata. In this case, you've been insured for 2 years, so that's a premium of € 50 x 2 = € 100. But you've paid € 150 in advance and you won't use the third year, so we'll refund € 150 - € 100 = € 50 to you.
